FilmVorführung im Schlachthof Kulturzentrum

Kommenden Samstag, am 18. September um 19:30 Uhr präsentiert die Animationsklasse in Kooperation mit dem Schlachthof Kulturzentrum eine Auswahl preisgekrönter Filme.

In diesem Programm wird eine besondere Auswahl an preisgekrönten Filmen von Studierenden der Animationsklasse im Studiengang Visuelle Kommunikation der Kunsthochschule Kassel vorgestellt. Wir freuen uns insgesamt dreizehn Animationen zu zeigen, welche national und international auf Filmfestivals mit Preisen ausgezeichnet wurden. Die große Bandbreite der ausgewählten Werke ermöglicht einen hervorragenden Einblick in unterschiedliche Erzählstrukturen, angewandte Stilelemente und Techniken.  

In dieser Kompilation liegt der Fokus auf vielfältigen Ideenwelten und künstlerischer Umsetzung.

Der Eintritt ist frei – Spenden sind willkommen!
Hygieneregeln: 3G-Regel (Zutritt für Personen ab 6 Jahren nur mit gültigem Impfnachweis (min. 14 Tage vollständig geimpft), offiziellem Nachweis über eine negative Testung (max. 24h alt), Genesenennachweis (max. 6 Monate alt). Kontaktdatenerfassung (analog/Luca-App). 1.5m Abstand zu anderen Personen/Gruppen halten. Medizinische Maskenpflicht in Gedrängesituationen wie bspw. Warteschlangen und in Innenräumen.

Da das Boreal nicht überdacht ist, wird witterungsgerechte Kleidung empfohlen, bei extremem Wetter müssen die Veranstaltungen unter Umständen abgesagt werden. Reservierungen nimmt das Team bei geöffnetem Biergarten zwischen 16.30 und 19.00 Uhr unter 01590/4149320 oder persönlich im Biergarten entgegen. Nicht pünktlich wahrgenommene Reservierungen verfallen und freie Plätze werden neu vergeben.

Next Saturday, September 18 at 7:30pm the animation class of the Kunsthochschule Kassel, in cooperation with Schlachthof Kulturzentrum, presents a selection of AWARD-WINNING FILMS.

This programme presents a special selection of award-winning films by students of the animation class in the Visual Communication programme at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. We are pleased to show a total of thirteen animations which have won prizes at national and international film festivals. The wide brand range of the selected works provides an excellent insight into different narrative structures, applied stylistic elements and techniques. In this compilation, the focus is on diverse worlds of ideas and artistic realisation.

Admission is free – donations are welcome! Hygiene rules: 3G rule (admission for persons 6 years and older only with valid proof of vaccination (min. 14 days fully vaccinated), official proof of a negative test (max. 24h old), proof of recovery (max. 6 months old). Contact details (analogue/Luca app). Keep 1.5m distance from other persons/groups. Medical masks are compulsory in crowded situations such as queues and indoors.

As the Boreal is not covered, weather appropriate clothing is recommended, in extreme weather events may have to be cancelled. Reservations will be taken by the team when the beer garden is open between 4.30pm and 7pm on 01590/4149320 or in person at the beer garden. Reservations not taken on time will be forfeited and free places will be reallocated.

TRICKREICH 2020

It’s February again which means that it’s time for Trickreich! As every year the animation class from Kunsthochschule Kassel presents its work of the past year. This time we’re going to discuss elementary questions of daily life: Why does my head hurt so much? – Am I still ticking correctly?

Game Zone 2019

For the third year in a row students of the animation class had the opportunity to present their works at Game Zone of the International Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart. Once again they were lucky to have a wide international audience to experience their games and installations.

Moreover, for the first time game students have also been part of the exhibition. The games class is working and developing at Kunsthochschule Kassel with professor Auriea Harvey since one year now.

Goodbye Thomas Meyer-Hermann!

Soon it’s time to say goodbye!

On 29th of May, Thomas Meyer-Hermann, professor of animation since 2000, will have his final lecture at Kunsthochschule Kassel. He will tell us about his decades of experience in the area of animation production, his love for animated pictures and the last secrets about the Tom’s slice of bread with jam and honey.

We are very excited and say thank you for all the years of support and inspiration!

Pizza Party on tour!

Say cheese!
Our juicy pineapple slices Áron Farkas, Stefan Kreller and Max Holicki have every reason to grin. Their film Pizza Party will smear sticky trails through the festivals this summer.
What began as a music video project for the band Sick Teeth will now be shown at: ANIMEX, BMVA, KAFF, ZlÍN, ArtAllNight, OAF & SUPERTOON.

EXAMEN award 2018 goes to stopmotion film

For her graduation film ‘Sincerely, Now Air’ Theresa Grysczok was awarded with 3000 euros at the EXAMEN exhibition 2018. Congratulations!

The five minute long stopmotion film is about an extreme situation during a flight:
A passenger dies on an airplane. While a stewardess tries to bring the man back to life, she deals with the requirements of her job and personal limits.

Still aus “Sincerely, Now Air”

In addition, Theresa will stay at Kunsthochschule Kassel for the Meisterschüler program 2019.

Florian Maubach wins German Shortfilm Award 2018

Florian Maubach won the German Shortfilm Award in the category ‘Animated movies’ in november 2018 with his graduation short ‘Cops and Robbers’. The German Shortfilm Award is the most importand and highest remunerated Shortfilm award in Germany. Florian was given a prize of 30.000 euros to fund new film projects. Congratulations Florian!

“Cops and Robbers” gives an insight in the everyday experience of teens:

Playing Cops and Robbers on the old playground. Why am I still doing this?

While they play Cops and Robbers, Daniel begins to realize that there is something else between catching and being caught. He sees himself confronted with situations with which he does not really know how to deal with.

Räuber & Gendarm nominated for German Short Film Award!

Good News:

Florian Maubach‘s graduation short film is nominated for the most important award for young filmmakers: the German Short Film Award.
On November 28th one film out of 288 submissions and 12 nominations will be honoured in Potsdam. Congratulations!

Since 1956 the Government annually awards the best German short films. Especially for young filmmakers the arward is an exceptional honour. The winner movie is chosen by two independent jurys.

ITFS – Here we come!

The Animation Class is invited again to exhibit at the  ITFS, one of the biggest animation festivals worldwide, and will therefore present the latest works in the Game Zone.
