New episodes of »God Is Coming« on Youtube! Graduates Stefan Vogt and Lukas Thiele celebrate together with Filmbilder!

Two days ago Studio FILM BILDER has launched on its youtube channel the 3rd episode of our series: “God is Coming: Contra”. It has already more than 3000 views. And many comments. This is exactly what we expect people to do after watching the episodes!

WELTMASCHINE wins Golden Cube

At the Documentary and Videofestival Kassel 2010 (Dokfest) the installation “Weltmachine” by Lukas Thiele and Tilman Hatje won the Golden Cube for the best media installation. She was to be seen in the exhibition “Monitoring”, which presented contemporary and space-related positions of media art within the framework of the festival.

„Weltmaschine“ (2010) Is a space installation consisting of 8 vibration units and white rubber cords, which are brought into harmony with a music specially composed for the installation (Lukas Rabe) by vibration and projection.
The award “Golden Hercules” this year went to the film “Suicide Club” by Olaf Saumer, who studied in the film class of the Kunsthochschule Kassel. “Suicide Club” will be available from 25.11. In selected cinemas in Germany.

Trickfilmklasse at DOKFEST KASSEL

At this year’s documentary film and videofestival Kassel, several films of the animation class are shown in various programs. The Dokfest Kassel takes place from the 9th to the 14th. November, an international program with a total of around 200 films will be presented in FILMADEN, BALI KINO and GLORIA. A supporting program with lectures, workshops, interfiction and media art exhibition monitoring will complement and enrich the festival.

Films from the class at FESTIVALS


Die Gedanken sind frei von Urte Zintler läuft auf dem Holland Animation Film Festival vom 03.-07. November 2010 im Studentenwettbewerb. Das Festival findet in Utrecht/Niederlande statt. Weiterhin wird der Film in Korea auf dem Puchon International Student Animation Festival gezeigt, das vom 05.-07. November stattfindet. Auch in Puchon ist „Die Gedanken sind frei“ im Studentenwettbewerb. Nahezu gleichzeitig zum Festival in Korea läuft der Film in Rumänien auf dem „ALTER-NATIVE 18. International Short Film Festival“ in Targu-Mures im Internationalen Wettbewerb, sowie kurz danach in Kassel auf dem Dokfest Kassel (09.-14.11.2010).

Burning Haus von Nils Knoblich läuft auf dem Dokfest Kassel. Der Film wird am Freitag, 12.11. um 24.00 im Programm „Triebe und Liebe“ im BaliKino gezeigt. Burning Haus wurde mit Mitteln der Hessischen Filmförderung http://www.hessische-filmfoerderung.de/de/ (HFF-HR) finanziert. Die Wahrheits-Quizshow von Wu Kung läuft auf dem „29th Uppsala International Short Film Festival“, das vom 25-31 Oktober 2010 in Uppsala/Schweden stattfindet.

Two Kasseler films in WIESBADEN

The best animation films of the year from all over the world – from Argentina to the Republic of China – will be shown at the 12th International Trickfilm Weekend in Wiesbaden from 14 to 17 October 2010. In two different categories of competition are also films of the Trickfilmklasse.

Urte Zintler has qualified for the competition category “Young Animation I” with her already widely acclaimed animation “Die Gedanken sind frei” and can now hope for the audience prize. The film is her final film at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and is about the attempts of a woman to remember the verses of the famous folk song “Die Gedanken sind frei”. While she is humming and singing with a broken voice, streak-like memories of her life come before her eyes – perhaps beautiful, perhaps tragic moments.

Wu Kung, a student of the animation class Kassel, is represented in the competition category “Young Animation II” with her film “Die Wahrheits-Quizshow”. The film is about the sudden and surprising illness of the outstanding sportswoman LanLan. The popular show of the state television station is in search of the truth, using its own methods. “Die Wahrheits-Quizshow” has also been shown at numerous festivals, most recently at the “KROK” festival in Ukraine and Russia.

DER PRÄZISE PETER clears again!

He has just won two prizes at the “Fantoche” festival in Baden / CH. Previously several audience prizes at well-known animation festivals and the “Gryphon Award” at the Giffoni Festival in Italy. Now, “Der exakt Peter” by Martin Schmidt is one more thing: the film was selected from around 23,000 submissions for the YouTube Play Biennale!

The shortlist of 125 films will now be shown on the YouTube Play Channel. An international jury selects 20 finalists from these films. They will be presented at a special event on 21 October 2010 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and then for 3 days at the Guggenheim Museums worldwide.
The goal of the YouTube Play project is “to discover and present exceptional talents in the constantly growing field of online videos”.

DER PRÄZISE PETER clears

At the “Fantoche” festival in Baden / Switzerland, the film “Der exakt Peter” by Martin Schmidt won the “Best Kids Award” of the children’s jury and the audience prize in the children’s competition. In addition, the so far very successful film won the audience award of the Haydauer Filmtage. We congratulate!

The film will soon be shown at the International Short Film Festival “shnit” in the International Competition. The festival will take place from 6 – 10 October. October 2010 simultaneously in Berne (CH), Cologne (D) and Cape Town (SA).

UTE is online

This year, Lea Schönfelder has created an excitement in the game industry with her computer game “Ulitsa Dimitrova”. First she won an award at the Student Showcase at the “Independent Games Festival”, then the British newspaper “The Independent” reported on Russian government censorship projects the game. Since today, their new game “Ute” is online and has the potential to provide excitement again!

A simple start screen with black and white line drawings awaits the visitor of www.ute-game.com. It is noted that “Ute” is a game for adults. The reason for this is the goal of the game: to have as much sex as possible before marriage.

Ute runs around and meets an odd number of men with whom she can sleep. The more sex she has, the more points she gets. But since all the men are in love with her, she has to be careful that she is not seen by the other men when she is in bed. If they are caught, two men fall away, who never sleep with her again. In the end, a man remains in the game. Ute must marry him. In a highscore you can enter the collected points on the website and I measure with other players.

The game was realized in cooperation with the programmer Stefan Lind of the engineering school Kassel. Have fun playing!

Ulitsa Dimitrova (Computerspiel) von Lea Schönfelder und Gerard Delmás wurde für den Wettbewerb auf dem Fantastic Fest Arcade 2010 in Austin/Texas ausgewählt. Das Festival findet vom 23.-30. September statt. Lea Schönfelder wird beim Festival anwesend sein und das Spiel repräsentieren.

Bei der „Sense of Wonder Night 2010“ im Rahmen der Tokyo Game Show in Tokyo/Japan werden Lea Schönfelder und Gerard Delmás das Spiel während eines Pecha Cucha Abends mit insgesamt 9 Independent Game Developern vorstellen. Pecha Kucha ist eine japanische Präsentationsform mit festgelegter Bildanzahl und Dauer.

Burning Haus von Nils Knoblich läuft auf dem Ottawa International Animation Festival in Kanada im Oktober 2010 in der „Official Competition“. Am 13. September 2010 wird der Film beim Milano Filmfestival in Italien gezeigt, Regisseur Nils Knoblich wird anwesend sein und seinen Film präsentieren. Weiterhin wird „Burning Haus“ auf dem „Klik! Animation Festival“ in Amsterdam (NL) gezeigt, das vom 13.-19. September stattfindet. Der Film wurde mit Mitteln der Hessischen Filmförderung (HFF-HR) finanziert. Der präzise Peter von Martin Schmidt hat auf dem 40. Giffoni Film Festival in Italien den Gryphon Award für den besten Kurzfilm in der Kategorie „Elements +3“ gewonnen! Dieser Preis wird auf dem Giffoni, das eines der renommiertesten Kinderfilmfestivals weltweit ist, von einer Jury bestehend aus 3-6 Jahre alten Kindern vergeben. Zudem gewann der Film beim berühmten „Anima Mundi“ Festival in Sao Paulo in Brasilien den Publikumspreis für den besten Studentenfilm. Wir gratulieren!

Im Oktober läuft „Der präzise Peter“ auf dem Ottawa International Animation Festival in Kanada.
